Gardner Ranch offers forage/grass based grazing services only. Basic rotational grazing and some intensive grazing management is used on the ranch.
Natural systems management including livestock handling techniques and use of natural animal grazing behavior are implemented. Hay and forage
compatible concentrate type supplements are used (sparingly) to fill in gaps when forage / grass shortages occur during the grazing contract period.
All medicines, minerals, supplements, etc., and services besides forage / grass, water, and management are provided on a cost plus basis. This is
done to allow practical cost effective management of livestock, in order to keep cost down for custom grazing customers. Animals receive the care
they require just as if they were owned by Gardner Ranch.
Custom grazing services have been offered at the Gardner Ranch since 1988. Eighteen years of experience and knowledge will be put
to work for custom grazing customers! Stuart Gardner, owner / operator, is a National Certified Grass Land Professional, Certified Louisiana Master Cattle
Producer, Range Conservationist / Grazing Land Resource Management Specialist, member of the Society for Range Management, and member of the
Louisiana Cattlemen's Association.
Custom grazing services are an integral part of the Gardner Ranch Operation. Years of doing a great job with custom grazed cattle
has built a hard earned reputation. Custom grazing customers must have ultimate confidence in the honesty and integrity of the caretaker of their cattle.
